Go off the beaten track with a trip to Grenada

Grenada is a cool choice for travellers who know the Caribbean well and who do not want to go to well-known islands such as Barbados or St Lucia. If you are travelling to Grenada, you are probably a traveller who marches to the beat of your own drum which is why the hotspots and cities of Grenada will speak out to you.

Visit Grenada to enjoy lots of things that will attract you whether you are a solo traveller or you are travelling there with friends and family. Here are a few of the places you should consider going to when you are in Grenada, once you have sorted out your travel insurance:

-Grenada’s charm: This gorgeous island is also called the Spice Isle for a reason – it is humming and buzzing with freshness that you cannot get in other islands in the West Indies. Grenada is famous for lots of diving activities that you can get up to on the island so check out all of the snorkelling and diving things that you can get up to when you arrive in Grenada.

-Carriacou and Petite Martinique: These two islets are part of the nation of Grenada and they add lots of unique flavour to life there. They are known for their bustling character and history because they have been part of Grenada for many years. They complement Grenada as sister islands and feature many cultural events such as the Big Drum Nation Dance and lots of parades as well. Carriacou and Petite Martinique would suit a group of friends travelling together who want to see the real side of the West Indies beyond all the glossy travel brochures that you see. Once you arrive in Grenada, all you have to do is take a ferry to either Petite Martinique or Carriacou to get your fill of what these beautiful sister islands have to offer you.

Top tip: Get up bright and early if you want to do shopping in the capital of Grenada, St George’s. This is because the many shops in Grenada tend to close in the afternoon around 3pm or 4pm.
